Members of the Arthrodermataceae family are filamentous fungi and can be identified by their ability to produce macroconidia, which are large, multicellular spores that aid in the transmission of the infection. These macroconidia typically have thick cell walls and distinctive shapes, such as curved or boat-shaped. Arthrodermataceae fungi can also produce microconidia, which are smaller spores that aid in the dissemination of the infection.
Arthrodermataceae species can infect a wide range of hosts, including humans, animals, and even plants. They are most commonly found in warm and humid environments.
